Shermitex, South Africa’s premier provider of crane training, announces the launch of its Overhead Crane Training (OHT) course.

The new course was developed by industry experts and is specifically tailored for South African conditions.

This 3-day course follows the guidelines and objectives set out by the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as well as compliance with the SANS/NORS Safety Standard for Overhead Cranes, Basic Qualification.

The course provides both practical and theoretical training in accordance with the Shermitex training principles. It is ideal for crane operators with experience operating mobile cranes or tower cranes who have little or no experience operating Overhead Cranes.

The course teaches participants how to manage crane loads, inspection and maintenance, load chart interpretation, rigging and derigging of equipment.

It is also works to ensure that participants can operate cranes safely at all times.
